Headankle

Today on the way home from church we were all feeling tired. Don't really know why but we were all ready for a nice afternoon at home. "My headankle sure hurts." At first we thought she was confused on where her ankle was. We questioned her because she had fallen at church and we wanted to make sure she didn't hurt her ankle. After a few rounds of confusing questions and answers and showing us that she did indeed know where her ankle was Anasten said, "why do you keep asking if my ankle hurts, it is fine, my head hurts I have a headankle!" So for all of you out there who may not know what that is, apparantly it is another word for headache. She says the funniest things and the best part is she never thinks she may have the wrong word, she is always right and we are the crazy ones!

We went to baby animal days with Sarah Heilig. It was so fun! We saw Timmy and his family their too. It was a cool day we we bundled up. We saw baby ducks, sheep, goats, bunnies, and puppies! We got to go on a wagon ride and eat a hotdog. Luke loved to be outside, and was so good and such a trooper. Anasten loved all the animals. It was a great Easter day!

Meet Simba

This is Simba. Simba is our family Easter present. He is a flame Ragdoll kitten if you have ever heard of that. He is mostly white now but will get darker orange on his tail, ears, nose, feet. He is the sweetest most layed back kitty you will ever know. Anasten dressed him up in a dress and strolled him around the house and he didn't even move. Every time Luke gets his hands on him he eats him, (or tries.) We have had lots of fun with our new pet. His name is Simba from the lion king. Anasten can't quite decide if he really is a boy, or maybe a girl. So she decided that he can be a boy but if she wants him to be a girl she will call him a she. She also calls him Cinderella or Kelly for his girl's name. But Simba is the name that she finally decided could be his "real" boy name.

Fun and Games!

Luke is getting so interactive and playing back and forth with us. He loves to do things that make us all laugh, he thinks he is so funny! Last night at dinner Josh handed him a plastic egg and said, "don't you drop it." Luke dropped it and started giggling, so we all laughed and replaid the event. To say the least we played this game over and over watching him giggle and be so proud of his new "game." Dad and Anasten said, "don't you drop that egg..." and I ran the video. So cute, our little comedian:)

10 things I miss.

Today is the one year anniversary of my grandma passing away. It is hard to see how time goes by, but she was 85 and had a long wonderful life. Though there are parts of me that are sad today, mostly I am at peace that she had a wonderful life and died peacefully. I wish so much that I could hug her and get a foot tickle.

10 things I miss about my Mimi, (not in any order)

1. Getting and giving feet tickles.
2. The way she lived for my homemade clam chowder and would freeze it in little sections to make it last a long time.
3. Her hands..what can I say I loved everything about them.
4. The way she listened intently.
5. The way she stayed up until 3 or 4 in the morning and slept til 1:)
6. The way she loved ladies luncheons and shopping dates.
7. The way she loved all of her little great grandchildren. She would clap for their tricks for hours!
8. The way she loved butter, cream, anything yummy and fattening. She said nothing was the same without butter.
9. The way she wrote letters and cards to make me feel good for everything, (and always wrote them in the middle of the night.)
10. The way she lived to have fun and love everybody she met, what an extraordinary lady!

Bonus:

11. The way she HATED Walmart, and Kroger brand. I think of her everytime I use either. She was very passionate about Walmart, Kroger brand, and politics! heehee

Anasten's 4th birthday finale.

After a week of parties and celebrating we are finally able to say Anasten is 4 years old and proud of it. We are still recovering but had a wonderful time celebrating 4 of the best years of our lives. Here is a sneak peak....

It is hard to believe when ones baby girl turns four years old! I was given wonderful advice, (thanks mom) to not waste it crying. So with very little tears in my eyes, here is a recap of Anasten's Elaine Holbrook's 4th birthday....

7:00am--Anasten comes in our room, we sleepily begin singing happy birthday.
"Mommy, am I four?" "Yep, finally today you get to be four!"
"So when am I 5?"
Is she kidding, I am already trying to fight back tears.

8:00am--Birthday breakfast. Eggs Benedict, which of course Anasten did not eat. Bible story and family Birthday prayer
8:30--Baby pictures, and family videos.
9:00--Birthday gift, it's a bike!
(practice riding out in the snow:)
10:00--Make cupcakes for school tomorrow.
11:00--Nana and pop stop buy and give a gift, dress-up!
12:00--Go to Mcdonalds for lunch, (Anasten and Josh's choice)
Afternoon--Rest
5:00--FANCY dinner, (Anasten has wanted for months) at Timbermine.
Anasten dresses in head to toe purple dress up just like fancy Nancy!
Eat fancy dinner, get sung to and dessert.
Hicks family and Deano came--FUN!
8:00--More family pictures and baby journal, (mom finally cries, Anasten laughs)
Goodnight our little precious birthday girl, we love you!
